Kamala Harris Tells ‘The View’ She Wouldn’t Have Done Anything Differently Than Biden Over the Last 4 Years

Vice President Kamala Harris said on The View that, under similar circumstances, her presidency would not have differed much from President Joe Biden’s.

As part of an extensive run of media appearances — which included 60 Minutes and the popular podcast Call Her Daddy — Harris on Tuesday joined The View. In addition to calling out Donald Trump for repeating false claims about the Biden’s hurricane response, Harris explained how she’s different from her president.

When asked what she would’ve done differently in his place, however, she couldn’t think of anything specific. According to the vice president, it’s because many of the decisions made under the current administration were a collaborative effort.

“There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of — and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact,” Harris said. “The work that we have done — for example, capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for our seniors — is something I care deeply about, about allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and bring the cost of prescription medication down for seniors; but my intention is to expand that for all Americans. The work we have done to invest in American industries, whether it be in terms of manufacturing and creating almost 800,000 new jobs around manufacturing, those were all a shared priority.”

Later on in the episode, Harris appeared to clarify her response by offering one key difference.

“I plan on having a Republican in my cabinet,” Harris said. “You ask me what’s the biggest difference between Joe Biden and me. Well, that would be one of the differences. I’m going to have a Republican in my cabinet.”
