Pro-Trump Entrepreneur David Sacks Brutally Roasted for ‘Bombing’ in RNC Speech to Bored Crowd

Entrepreneur David Sacks spoke about Ukraine and Russia and potential World War III in his Monday Republican National Convention speech, but social media was flooded with reactions roasting the awkward six and a half minutes.

The vocal Donald Trump supporter and tech entrepreneur took to the stage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Monday with a primetime slot and accused President Joe Biden of provoking Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with “talk of NATO expansion.” The moment was one of several where Sacks appeared to stop for a few moments for an applause break that did not come.

“Taking some solace in how badly David Sacks’ speech went over,” Dispatch editor-in-chief Jonah Goldberg posted to X in reaction to Sacks’s speech.

Most critics focused on the clip of Sacks blaming the United States for Russia invading Ukraine with some accusing him of pushing Kremlin talking points. Sacks’s Ukraine comments were highlighted on Tuesday on CNN.

Sacks tried out multiple jokes that earned minimal applause and laughter and he got his biggest response when name-checking Trump and J.D. Vance.

“We need strength and savviness in the White House situation room even if the crisis hits after Biden’s bedtime,” Sacks said at one point to some distant laughter.

At another point while criticizing Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, Sacks joked that the president’s policy is “so incoherent” that “the only thing pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters agree on is the chant f-Joe Biden,” earning some applause.

During his speech, Sacks argued the world is on the brink of World War III.

“Rather than bolstering confidence in American leadership as he promised, President Biden has become the symbol of an America in decline,” he said. “This may be our present but it does not have to be our future.”
