Ku Klux Klan Newspaper Endorses Donald Trump

kkkDonald Trump snagged the endorsement of the official newspaper of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

In a full front-page editorial of the Crusader, the KKK’s national director Thomas Robb writes that there are “strangers which have invaded our land and now dictate to us policies which are foreign to our traditions, our spirit and our faith.”

Robb points to the advancement of LGBTQ rights and affirms that America is only great as a “White Christian Republic.” He warns ominously of a “racial time bomb that is ticking.” He writes, “White genocide seems to be closing its jaws upon our people forever…”

The Crusader bills itself as both “The Premiere Voice of the White Resistance” and “The Political Voice of White Christian America.”

In an interview with the Washington Post, Robb said:

Overall, we do like his nationalist views and his words about shutting down the border to illegal aliens. It’s not an endorsement because, like anybody, there’s things you disagree with.

Trump’s campaign rejected the endorsement. “Mr. Trump and the campaign denounces hate in any form. This publication is repulsive and their views do not represent the tens of millions of Americans who are uniting behind our campaign,” it said in a statement.

Trump has been extremely successful in winning the support of white nationalists and the KKK in particular. In an April interview with WWBT, the KKK’s leader — or “Imperial Wizard” — told a reporter that he thought Trump would be the best candidate for president. He said that the group supported Trump’s promise to ban Muslims from entering the country.

Former Imperial Wizard and current candidate for U.S. Senate David Duke has also repeatedly expressed his enthusiasm for Trump’s candidacy.
