Trump Campaign Demands Apology Over This Blistering Clip Slamming MSG Rally As Nazi-esque
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign is demanding an apology over a blistering clip of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) slamming Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally as an intentionally Nazi-esque gathering.
Trump is getting a lot of attention for the antics at his Madison Square Garden rally, which his critics compared to an infamous 1939 American Nazi rally even before it began. Among those critics was Walz, who spoke to campaign volunteers at a canvass kickoff event in Las Vegas Saturday.
As he wrapped up his remarks, Walz went off on Trump and compared the then-upcoming rally to that pro-Hitler “Night at the Garden” rally:
Donald Trump has descended into madness over the last few weeks, and I think some of you– don’t miss on this. Go to your Google on this.
Donald Trump’s got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden. There’s a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid 1930s at Madison Square Garden. And don’t think that he doesn’t know for one second exactly what they’re doing there!
So look, we said we’re all running like everything’s on the line because it is. It is. And I’ve been saying for the last three months or so that there’ll be plenty of time for all of us to sleep when we’re dead. Now is not the time. Now is not the time.
So I want to say I’m proud to be on the team with Kamala. I’m proud to be on the team with you.
The door knocks you’re making very possibly could be the difference between electing Kamala Harris and moving us into a positive future–.
Or the nightmare of Donald Trump!
On Monday, Trump Campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt demanded an apology from Walz in a statement emailed to Mediaite, casting the remarks as a “deplorable moment:
Kamala Harris’ campaign is copying Hillary Clinton’s strategy of attacking half the country. Tim Walz needs to apologize for his disgraceful comments smearing Trump supporters. This kind of rhetoric has already inspired assassination attempts.
