Billionaire Elon Musk has donated to a super PAC working to elect former President Donald Trump back to the Oval Office, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The Tesla founder and owner of X has not publicly indicated which candidate he plans on voting for in the November election. However, Bloomberg reports, the recent donation could indicate Musk plans on going all-in with the former president.

Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources “familiar with the matter,” reported that Musk gave an undisclosed amount of money to America PAC, a “low-profile” PAC seeking to reelected Trump. The PAC is required to disclose its donor list by July 15th.

Considered one of the richest men on Earth, Musk has used his own X account to promote right-leaning views and attack Democratic lawmakers. Musk’s recent contribution comes as Trump is soaring ahead of President Joe Biden regarding fundraising due to a the help of longtime corporate donors.

Biden has lost a significant amount of deep-pocketed donors following his poor performance against Trump at CNN’s debate last month.

Although, Musk has not officially endorsed either candidate and claimed earlier this year that he did not plan on providing political funds to Trump or Biden.

From Bloomberg:

The political money makes Musk an even more formidable Washington player. He derives his wealth primarily from his holdings in electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc., SpaceX and X. His companies already boast sizable government contracts and regularly clash with federal agencies over regulations.

Some of Trump’s proposed policies, such as dismantling Biden’s measures to transition the US to electric vehicles and vows to impose tariffs on Chinese EV makers, would have a direct impact on Tesla. Musk and Trump have clashed in the past but the two have grown closer with the tech entrepreneur advising the former president on electric vehicles and crypto policy.
