Republican Senator Dutifully Tells Fox Trump Can ‘Absolutely’ Win New York State in 2024

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) told Fox Business on Friday he believes that Donald Trump can “absolutely” win New York state in the 2024 general election.

Fox host Cheryl Casone asked Scott to weigh in on Trump saying he could win New York and then “take over the country” in an interview with Fox News after his Bronx rally on Thursday.

“Donald Trump is saying that he can turn blue New York red. You think that’s possible?” Casone asked.

“He can. Oh, absolutely. You would. When I left my hotel this morning, there’s a lady from the Bronx. She says every one of her neighbors is for Trump. Everyone. She said this, all these cases, lawsuits, it’s lawfare against Trump. She says it is unfair and un-American,” Scott replied.

Notably, Trump lost New York state in his two previous runs for president, most recently in 2020 by some 23 points to Joe Biden.

Casone cheerfully agreed, saying, “I told Maria, I said, you watch it. He’s going to get a huge reception in the Bronx. New Yorkers are fed up. They are fed up with the migrants. They are fed up with the economy. And then Hochul comes out and says, anybody that likes Trump is a clown.”

“So adding insult to injury and I’m telling you, yeah, I thought it was fascinating that he had that big of a turnout in the Bronx yesterday. Senator. Anyway, I know you were just here in New York. Like you said, you’ve watched this all unfold like we have in our city,” Casone concluded.
