MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Torches Justice Alito, Declares He’d Be ‘Heckling’ Biden Right Next to Marjorie Taylor Greene

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell tore into Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Thursday evening, declaring the judge would be “heckling” President Joe Biden right alongside Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and others if he were a member of Congress.

Alito has been under the spotlight of critics recently after a report revealed an upside-down American flag flew at his House shortly after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Alito claimed in a statement that this was not a show of unity with the rioters or a sign of support for Trump’s unfounded election fraud claims. According to Alito, the flag was placed outside his home by his wife to protest neighbors displaying yard signs with “insulting language.” The judge claimed he had no involvement.

O’Donnell dismissed the explanation as lacking any “logic,” calling it, “obviously a lie.”

O’Donnell played footage of Alito at then-President Barack Obama’s State of the Union where Obama blasted the court’s decision in the Citizens United case. Alito could be seen shaking his head at Obama and at one point appearing to mutter, “Not true.”

“Would Alito have pulled his punk stunt against a white Democratic president? He hasn’t done it again with Joe Biden, but then Samuel Alito hasn’t shown up to a single State of the Union address since that time in 2010,” O’Donnell said.

“Heckling” during a State of the Union has become far more common, he continued.

“Now heckling the president is something Marjorie Taylor Greene and her friends think they’re good at during State of the Union addresses,” he said.

O’Donnell argued Alito would heckle a president, specifically President Biden if he were a member of the House.

“Samuel Alito is one of them. If he were a member of the House now, he’d be in back benches with Marjorie Taylor Greene yelling at the president,” he said.
