Fox News Host Calls Out MSNBC For Covering North Korea Prisoner Release For Only 30 Seconds
Fox News host Todd Piro donned his media critic hat on Friday morning, pointing out that MSNBC’s primetime lineup devoted a grand total of 30 seconds to the news that three American detainees were released from North Korea.
President Donald Trump welcomed the three Americans at Joint Base Andrews early Thursday morning, who were released by the North Korean regime ahead of talks between the country’s leader and the U.S. president.
Piro first aired a montage of hosts from various networks — from CNN to MSNBC — criticizing Trump despite the release of the prisoners.
After noting that Fox & Friends First covered the prisoner release extensively on Thursday morning, Piro then aired a graphic breaking down how much time network evening news devoted to the story.
According to Fox News’ research, NBC News clocked in at 2 minutes 20 seconds, ABC News at 3 minutes, and CBS News at 2 minutes and 5 seconds.
Those networks were all bested, however, by Piro’s white whale of downplaying the prisoner release.
“Then there’s MSNBC total primetime coverage yesterday,” Piro said. “Again, this is from 8 to 11 p.m. on what is arguably — or not really even arguably — it was the biggest story of the day. A total of 30 seconds.”
“At some point, isn’t there some sort of disingenuousness on their part? This is a major American story?” Piro asked his guest.
Piro concluded that no matter what Trump does, he will not receive positive coverage from the media.
