CNN’s Manu Raju caught up with Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) on Capitol Hill and asked her about Sen. JD Vance’s (R-OH) past comments about “childless cat ladies” — and she definitely had an opinion.
In a video captured by CBS News’s Alan He on Wednesday, Raju asked Murkowski about the comments by former President Donald Trump’s running mate and she responded:
I’ve already commented. I said that it was it was offensive to me as a woman. Women make their own determinations as to whether or not they’re going to have children or cats or dogs or how many kids they’re going to have.

Politico reported on Tuesday that Murkowski also said of Vance’s “derogatory” comments: “If the Republican Party is trying to improve its image with women, I don’t think that this is working.”
Raju also asked Murkowski for her thoughts on how Trump was running his campaign. She told him: “I think what the country would hope for … is a discussion on the issues and the polices. … We don’t need to engage in name calling, we don’t need to create inflammatory statements.”
Murkowski has said that she “absolutely” would not vote for Trump for president.
