Bannon Rages at ‘Slimiest’ Republican Lindsey Graham For Nuking Tommy Tuberville’s Defense of Putin

Former Trump campaign manager and White House advisor Steve Bannon tore into Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) this week after Graham tried to distance the GOP from Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-LA) recent comments about Russia.

Bannon began by playing a clip from Graham on CBS’s Face the Nation over the weekend. “Republican colleague, Senator Tommy Tuberville, just this past week said on Steve Bannon’s show that Volodymyr Zelensky is a dictator and unconstitutional. And he said this about Vladimir Putin,” began Margaret Brennan in the clip.

“He doesn’t want Ukraine. He doesn’t want Europe. Hell, he’s got enough land of his own. He just wants to make sure that he does not have United States weapons in Ukraine pointing at Moscow,” Tuberville told Bannon.

“Those echo some Russian talking points. Senator, I wonder if those remarks from your fellow senator represent the GOP?” Brennan then asked Graham for his reaction.

“So we’ve been slow as hell of helping Ukraine, but Senator Tuberville’s analysis really misses what Putin’s all about,” hit back Graham, adding:

He’s an outlier, I think, in the Republican Party. I like him personally. But, what did Trump do to get the weapons flowing? He created a loan system. They’re sitting on 10 to $12 trillion of critical minerals in Ukraine. They could be the richest country in all of Europe. I don’t want to give that money and those assets to Putin to share with China. If we help Ukraine now, they can become the best business partner we ever dreamed of.

That 10 to $12 trillion of critical mineral assets could be used by Ukraine and the West, not given to Putin and China. This is a very big deal. How Ukraine ends. Let’s help them win a war we can’t afford to lose. Let’s find a solution to this war. But they’re sitting on a gold mine. To give Putin 10 or $12 trillion of critical minerals that he will share with China is ridiculous.

“Whoa. You notice this new argument? It’s just like the illegal alien invasion of our country. You got it. You can’t get rid of the, you can’t deport anybody because the economy. And this is how the globalist think,” Bannon raged at the clip, before taking some shots at Graham:

Is Lindsey Graham not the slimiest of them? I think he’s the slimiest, walking around like a serpent. You see, when he’s in President Trump’s ear, it’s poison he’s putting in there. Is it an outlier of the Republican Party? No, it’s pure MAGA. No more money for Ukraine!

I don’t know, it’s maybe outside of the neo-liberal, neo-cons of which, you know, he’s the, his mentor was John McCain. Jim Rickards. Your and by the way, later in the interview, he went on and said, we must take their assets, turn it into cash, the Russian people’s assets, turn into cash and give it to Ukraine to fund their war.

Bannon was ordered this month to report to prison in July to begin serving his fourth-month sentence for contempt of Congress – having refused to comply with a subpoena regarding his alleged involvement in the pro-Trump scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
