Scaramucci Mocks ‘Spineless Sycophant’ J.D. Vance for Making Trump-Like Gestures Outside the Courthouse
Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci mocked Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) after the senator appeared outside Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York on Monday.
Vance and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) both spoke near the courthouse where the former president is on trial for falsifying business records. Tuberville called the proceedings “depressing” and decried the “mental anguish” Trump is going through by being on trial.
Vance, who is reportedly a candidate to be Trump’s vice presidential running mate, also slammed the charges while baselessly blaming President Joe Biden for the four criminal indictments against Trump in four jurisdictions.
“What’s going on inside that courtroom is a threat to American democracy, ladies and gentlemen,” Vance declared while making pointed motions with his hands. “We cannot have a country where you get to prosecute your police political opponents instead of persuading voters Joe Biden’s entire strategy strategy is to try to distract from inflation at home and war overseas with this sham trial.”
Monday’s CNN NewsNight aired the comments before welcoming Scaramucci, who served in Trump’s White House for 10 days.
“What’s the motive here for J.D. Vances and the Tommy Tubervilles of the world, and the Nicole Malliotakises?” host Abby Phillip asked. “Apparently, Vivek Ramaswamy will be there tomorrow. What’s the calculus here to make this pilgrimage to the courthouse?”
Scaramucci began by mocking Vance’s gyrations.
“They’re signaling to Donald Trump. It’s sort of even a mimetic thing. You saw him with his hands like this,” he replied, thrusting his hands about. “He’s trying to even act and speak like Trump. And I would tell him to shave the beard, though. Trump doesn’t like beards. So, J.D., if you’re watching, if you really wanna be as obsequious as you look, you gotta shave that beards ’cause he doesn’t like those beards.”
Scaramucci went on to call Vance and Tuberville “spineless sycophants.”
