‘I Am A Very Innocent Man’: Furious Trump Rages Outside Courthouse After Being Found Guilty on 34 Felony Counts
Former President Donald Trump raged outside of a Manhattan courthouse after he was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records by a jury on Thursday evening.
“This was a disgrace, this was a rigged trial,” Trump fumed. “Our whole country is being rigged right now. This is being done by the Biden Administration in order to hurt or wound a political opponent.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed President Joe Biden is behind his prosecution, despite the reality that he was indicted in the state of New York.
Trump’s sentencing is slated for July 11.
The comments to reporters came after Trump went on an all caps rant on his social media platform Truth Social after the jury reached its unanimous decision in his criminal trial.
A Manhattan jury came to a unanimous decision on Thursday afternoon finding Trump guilty in the case regarding hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election season.
District Attorney Alvin Bragg has accused the Republican nominee for president of making these payments at the time via his ex-attorney Michael Cohen to cover up an alleged affair with the adult film actress. Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has denied the affair.
Minutes after it was announced the verdict was reached, Trump took to Truth Social, claiming his civil rights had been violated in an all-caps rant to his followers.
“MY CIVIL RIGHTS HAVE BEEN TOTALLY VIOLATED WITH THIS HIGHLY POLITICAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL, AND ELECTION INTERFERING WITCH HUNT,” Trump wrote.
He added, “OUR FAILING NATION IS BEING LAUGHED AT ALL OVER THE WORLD!”
