‘Find Some Fraud’: Trailer For New HBO Doc Captures Trump’s Shocking Attempts to Steal 2020 Election

An upcoming HBO Original documentary is about to remind viewers that there was not a peaceful transfer of power when President Joe Biden took office.

Stopping the Steal, a new look at the movement spearheaded by former President Donald Trump after he lost the 2020 election, will debut on Max on September 17.

Directed by Emmy-winner Dan Reed (who also directed HBO’s The Truth vs. Alex Jones), it includes on-camera commentary several former Trump staffers and officials such as Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr, former White House Director of Strategic Communications Alyssa Farah Griffin, campaign and White House official Stephanie Grisham, Trump attorney John Eastman (who was indicted along with Trump and 17 others in Georgia for trying to overturn the 2020 election), and Jacob Chansley aka the QAnon Shaman.

In the trailer, Griffin recounts Trump discussing his loss, acknowledging that he did lose, despite his public denials and claims the election was “rigged.” Also featured in the trailer are the numbers: how many felons voted illegally (“74”), voters who were “not listed as registered” (“zero”), and “deceased” voters (“four”). One commentator even says that he was told by Trump: “You’ll be the most popular guy in America! All you’ve gotta do is find some fraud.”

Then the film illustrated the deadly spiral the effort took, playing death threats received by some election officials and, ultimately, the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
