James Carville Renews Feud With John Fetterman, Trashes PA Senator as ‘One of the Great Backstabbers’

Veteran Democratic strategist, James Carville, has made no qualms about his dislike of Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and on the most recent episode of his podcast promised to “deal with him” after the November election.

Fetterman and Carville were on opposite sides of the debate within the Democratic Party as to whether or not President Joe Biden should remain on the ticket. Fetterman hit back at Carville with a profanity-laced tirade late last year, telling Politico, “I’ll use this [as] another opportunity to tell James Carville to shut the fuck up.”

“My man hasn’t been relevant since grunge was a thing. And I don’t know why he believes it’s helpful to say these kinds of things about an incredibly difficult circumstance with an incredibly strong and decent and excellent president,” Fetterman added of Biden.

Fetterman again crossed swords with Carville over Vice President Kamala Harris’s pick for her running mate. Fetterman actively campaigned against the governor of his state, Josh Shapiro, and urged Harris to look elsewhere.

Carville spoke about Fetterman on his Politics War Room podcast and called him “one of the great backstabbers in modern Democratic politics.”

“But I’m going to wait ’til after the election to deal with him. But he’s somebody that must be dealt with, and must be dealt with in real terms,” Carville added.

Co-host Al Hunt then noted that Fetterman “sandbagged Shapiro,” who many pundits saw as the best way for Harris to ensure she wins the crucial state of Pennsylvania in November.

Carville agreed with Hunt and added, “And, of course, the reason he’s in the United States Senate is because of Shapiro. If you look at the Pennsylvania election returns, 2022, and you’ll get the idea of how Josh dragged this guy across the finish line.”
