Ex-Pence Aide Seethes About Trump’s Private Hatred Towards His Own Fans: ‘I Detest the Way He Speaks About Them’
A former aide to Vice President Mike Pence ripped former President Donald Trump for privately showing what she describes as contempt towards his own fans.
Appearing on The View Tuesday, former Pence aide Olivia Troye — who famously accused the White House of nefarious tactics and other negligence on Covid-19 after serving on the administration’s task force — said Trump regularly badmouthed his own fans in private.
“What is so frustrating and angry to me is the fact that he has nothing in common with any of his supporters,” Troye said. “And I detest the way he speaks about them, like when he would talk about them in meetings. It was so disparaging to them.”
Troye noted that members of her own family don’t like the fact that she has criticized the former president. In that light, Troye said she takes Trump’s secret contempt of his own supporters personally.
“They’re very upset that I am a Trump critic,” Troye said, referring to her family. “I think about them and I’m like, ‘I hate the way you speak about them sometimes behind closed doors.'”
Host Joy Behar amplified Troye’s point.
“Would he invite any of these Trump supporters to Mar-a-Lago, is what I’d like to know,” Behar said. “I don’t think so.”
