‘Disgusting’: Lara Trump Rips Into Joy Reid Equating Biden’s Covid to Trump Assassination Attempt

Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump tore into MSNBC’s Joy Reid for equating President Joe Biden getting Covid to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Lara Trump joined Fox & Friends on Thursday and called Reid’s comments the previous day “disgusting” and “unbelievable.”

Reid argued on Wednesday that Biden currently overcoming Covid should be viewed in the same manner so many are looking at Trump since he was struck in the ear by a shooter at a weekend rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“This current president of the United States is 81-years-old and has Covid, should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn’t that convey exactly the same thing? That he’s strong enough – older than Trump – to have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age,” Reid said.

Biden tested positive for Covid on Wednesday and he’s now self-isolating in Delaware.

“That’s honestly unbelievable. It’s disgusting,” Lara Trump said after watching a clip of Reid. “Someone tried to kill my father-in-law. There was a bullet that came within millimeters of taking his life.”

She also blasted Reid for a brief comment in which the MSNBC host claimed Trump was given “nine seconds” for a photo op after being shot. In reality, after Trump was shot, he was surrounded by Secret Service. As he was being rushed offstage, he screamed “wait” multiple times and then threw his fist into the air multiple times and told the crowd, “fight.” Behind was the American flag, and the photo has already been heavily celebrated by supporters.

“It wasn’t just that people were trying to make it look like strength; that was strength. That was a moment Donald Trump knew he had to get up and not just get up and walk offstage, but put his fist in the air for the country, to say we will be okay, to show our adversaries around the world America is not weak,” Lara Trump said.

Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade joked MSNBC may have made the wrong decision in not airing Morning Joe on the Monday after the assassination attempt, joking Reid might have been the better bet to pull from the airwaves.

“They maybe pulled the wrong show off the air,” he said.
