Ex-Biden Comms Director Calls On Team Biden to Put Up Or Shut Up — Amid ‘Overwhelmingly Negative’ Polls

Kate Bedingfield, a CNN contributor who previously served under President Joe Biden as White House communications director, is calling on Biden’s team to put up or shut up.
Bedingfield has been largely defensive of Biden since his disastrous debate performance last month, even drawing criticism from another former Biden aide for “gaslighting” the public about the state of the race by declaring that “the race has not fundamentally changed.”
As recently as Tuesday, Bedingfield was insisting that Biden could serve four more years as commander-in-chief, causing her colleague Jonah Goldberg to call her out for what he deemed a “lunatic” opinion.
All that made Bedingfield’s call for Biden’s team to share data to substantiate their view of the presidential race on Wednesday all the more notable.
“I know firsthand better than almost anyone how smart the Biden team is about data and about ignoring the noise. They are right that the game here is to convince voters, not pundits. But when the battle over the public data is so overwhelmingly negative, it’s a good moment to put forward your theory of the case,” wrote Bedingfield on X. “If they have data that supports the path to victory that they see, they should put it out there now and help people who badly want to beat Trump rally around it. People want to see the path.”

Trump was leading in most national and battleground state surveys prior to the debate and has only seen his position strengthen in the weeks since it.
