Mike Lee Says Americans Can Oppose ‘Lawlessness’ by Voting for Criminally Indicted Trump

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said Americans can score a victory for law and order by voting for former President Donald Trump, who is facing 91 criminal counts in four cases.

Lee appeared on Friday’s installment of The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, where Laura Ingraham teased an announcement from the senator.

“Senator, I understand that you’ve decided whom you’re going to endorse in the Republican primary,” she said. “Are you going to share it with us tonight?”

“Yeah, I have made that decision,” he replied. “The American people have a choice to make. In this circumstance, they have a rare, historically unusual chance to choose between two presidents. They have a chance to choose between order and lawlessness. They have an opportunity to choose between putting America first or America last.”

Lee added that choosing Trump over President Joe Biden is “to choose order over chaos.”

“And so, whether you agree with him on every point or not, if you are not content with the status quo, the status quo of lawlessness, of putting America last, it’s time to get behind Donald Trump,” he said. “And I wholeheartedly endorse Donald J. Trump in his bid for the presidency in 2024.”

Trump infamously tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election by pressuring officials in states he lost to subvert the election results. When that failed, he urged then-Vice President Mike Pence to reject the election’s certification in Congress on Jan. 6, 2021. After Pence refused, a mob stormed the Capitol for several hours, during which time Trump watched the carnage on television and ignored lawmakers’ pleas for help.

These actions notched Trump criminal charges in federal court in Washington, D.C., and in Fulton County Georgia. He is also under indictment in Manhattan for allegedly falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments. Additionally, Trump is under indictment in federal court for allegedly retaining classified documents after leaving office and obstructing the government’s effort to retrieve them.
