Fox’s Harris Faulkner Goes to Vietnam to Trace Her Father’s Footsteps in New Fox Nation Series

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner went on a journey to cover the story of her father for a new series that dropped on Fox Nation on Thursday.

Vietnam: Footsteps of my Father with Harris Faulkner follows Faulkner to Vietnam where her father, Lt. Col. Bobby Harris, served during the Vietnam War as an Army combat pilot. The three-episode series includes recordings of Harris talking about his missions and “close calls,” as well as what joining the military meant for him in a segregated America.

In a press release from Fox, Faulkner said: “The Vietnam War was such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and it is both an honor and privilege to view the war through the footsteps of my father. I am so grateful for the opportunity to journey to Vietnam and look forward to sharing this remarkable story with our viewers.”

Faulkner also told Newsweek in a recent interview more about the motivations behind her desire to tell her late father’s story: “I wanted to answer the question, ‘What do you say to a Vietnam War veteran?’ Because, ‘Thank you for your service’ doesn’t cut it.”

Faulkner interviewed other Vietnam veterans and historians to reconstruct what her father saw 8,000 miles away, visiting Saigon, Vung Tau, and Da Nang. She also brought the stories of the past to the present, letting veterans share how they still carry their experiences in Vietnam with them to this day.
