‘Might Be Time To Change Your Tampon’: Trump Rally Comic Hits Back at AOC, Walz On ‘Garbage’ Puerto Rico Joke
Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe fired back at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz after they took offense to his set at a Madison Square Garden rally for Donald Trump on Sunday.
Hinchcliffe insulted Walz for having the free time to dissect his joke from a Twitch stream while the comedian commented he thought neither Walz nor Ocasio-Cortez had a “sense of humor.”
Both Democrats expressed outrage at Hinchcliffe’s set – in which he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”
“Republicans are the party with a good sense of humor,” Hinchcliffe said at the rally. “I don’t know if you guys know this, but there is literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico?”
Ocasio-Cortez and Walz were streaming on Twitch Sunday when they paused the game to react to the joke.
After seeing their response, Hinchcliffe posted on X saying, “These people have no sense of humor. Wild that a vice presidential candidate would take time out of his ‘busy schedule’ to analyze a joke taken out of context to make it seem racist.”
“I love Puerto Rico and vacation there. I made fun of everyone…watch the whole set,” he said. “I’m a comedian Tim…might be time to change your tampon.”
After hearing the “garbage joke, Walz asked Ocasio-Cortez, “Who is that? Jackwad? Who is that guy?”
Walz shared an anecdote about Hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico and explained that people who inhabit the island “pay taxes” and “serve in the military at almost a higher rate than anybody else.”
Ocasio-Cortez responded, “Yeah, I mean, it’s like super upsetting. Obviously, it’s super upsetting to me. My family’s from Puerto Rico.”
